Smilies for MudBomb’s HTML editor
February 27th, 2005

I’ve noticed that some of the smilie/emoticon graphics for this HTML/WYSIWYG thing don’t work on dark backgrounds, so I’m going to nutralise them a little. I hope.

This page will show my “work in progress” – I’ll do another weblog entry when it’s finished, so you don’t need to keep checking back, unless you’re curious.

I shall add some, I think, too. I’m not sure…. ;)   I want to investigate how they intergrate into Wordpress’ own emoticon thingy too.

WYSIWYG Editor For Wordpress
February 26th, 2005

Just installed Mudbomb’s WYSIWYG editor for Wordpress.

So far so good emoticon I’ve had lots of bad experience with WYSIWYG stuff, so am openly impressed so far. Now to see how long it lasts.  If this keeps up, I’ll be surprised if it’s not part of the next general release.

So far, actually, I’m impressed with wordpress, it’s done far better than I’ve thought, a vast improvement over b2, which is what it was based upon originally.  Now, I tried b2, and didn’t like it.  My ServerHost provides some blogs as standard, including b2evolution and pMachine personal.

I, now, want to try and see if I can use the management facilities of Wordpress to handle the rest of my site. *gakgakgak* Of course, I’ll need to make some template up first.

GPEspace

I’ve offered to host the space theme for GPE over at Xalior. If you run GPE, try it out ;) Please :)

pMachine2Wordpress
February 26th, 2005

It was on Xalior but I decided to liven up this domain and use it, again…. So here it is, old content (in respect to blog), new engine. I prefer the look, but the admin interface (of Wordpress) is a little clunkier, but less complex. pMachine tried too hard….

I also added some new catagories, which I plan to use. I actually have a few diary entries in my head that I need to get around to writing, including, maybe, some book reviews.

Someone stole my tree
February 24th, 2005

Okay, so it’s not *MY* tree – but the evergreen outside the office window that I watch blow in the wind when I need insperation no longer looks its usual self – it’s covered, and I mean covered, in snow…. as is everything else. While for days now it’s been snowing little bits, settling for a few minutes, an hour or so at most, and then it’s gone, but the snow is so heavy and hard now that it looks like it’s going to stay. The street outside is so pretty….

I am going to look at making my ToDo prettyprinter in python tonight, no idea on if I am up to this, it’s not complex code, so much, just fiddly….

We went into town today, Lois and I, it’s rare for me to go out – and it exausted me. But I got a subway (num!) and Lois found some things she’s been after for a while – environmentially friendly cleaningness.

The wind just blew open the office window and door! That’s a first. But it’s so cold out there…. I’d love the freshair, but…. I even had to wear a coat into town!

I helped Lois do some Avon stuff too this afternoon, and we called into a local store – it’s kinda a grocery place but everything is fresh and nice and, well, better quality than most. It reminded me of american grocery stores – selling everything foody you could want, and run by one nice old dude – it’s not cheapCheap, but it’s not too expensive – and they make nice pork-pies and egg and bacon pies. I bought Lois some quiche and a sausage roll because she refused to tell me what she wanted. and then she decides she wants potatoes and apples. Odd girl ;)

You know what, sod it! I’m gonna finish my tea and go to bed. It’s cold, I feel poo, and there’s a warm person so cuddle…..Mmmmmm. PrettyPrint can wait ;)

Maybe, we’ll see if I can sleep ;)
