Back from Amsterdam…
March 27th, 2006

Now I’m not a big “picture taker” – I used to be, and want to become again, but while in A’dam I snapped the following….

Bollard
Just in case you ever get lost everywhere you got there’s subtle (and not so subtle) reminders that this is the Amsterdam Red Light District. :)

This just made me smile. A random mosaic on a random wall I passed on the way from somewhere random to somewhere random, all in Amsterdam. :)

[Edit: Sorry for picture quality, they're snapped with my phonecam - I'm so unpicish I didn't even take a proper camera with me!]

You’re all a bunch of bastards!
March 13th, 2006

Yeah, you, ya bastards! My original email, in my defence:

Am sure it would take (me) moments to organise but how about we got an MP3/voicemail of each of the “regular” LADIES who frequent #lugradio, etc to do a Phated type message of “I’m `a badger’ and I’ll see you at LUGRadio live 06″ and you can stick one in each show?

Unless, of course, you have magic Open Source Celeb-strings you can pull, and get the famous speakers to do them instead, but I suspect that would take more effort…. Although the IRC bunch could ask around their “famous” mates too, I guess.

Kinda like the whole publicity thing of, “I’m Madonna and I’ll see you at this years Brits” but geekier?

Is this a good idea or am I smoking too much crack again?

-TTFN, Dx

ps: http://www.rimron.co.uk/experimental/LR-Jungle.mp3 is now the ringtone of several IRCers. This is breaking some CC ruling, should we all wipe our phones in shame?

Bastards.

WANTED: Geek!
March 11th, 2006

(This is mainly aimed at #LUGRadio/geekmates — especially those with some spare time, looking for a [summer] project)

I’ve got a (potentially profitable) dotcom/business idea with no time to develop it. Ideal for a first public/business project for someone with some web-development experience – lots of network and software interaction… Anyone want it?

-Dx

[Edit: Yes, I'm intentionally vague (here) at this point....]
